Bloggers visit a giant business

On a perfect, sunny day this week, Green Giant hosted a few special visitors to its agricultural research center and fertile farm fields in Minnesota.

23 bloggers were invited to a “Valley Visit” educational event in Le Sueur, Minn., the small town where it all started for Green Giant in 1903.

The agenda for the day focused on demonstrating how Green Giant grows and delivers fresh vegetables suitable for you and your family.

From research and testing to production and processing, the event was a learning opportunity appreciated by the bloggers.

We talked with one of them, Sarah Barrand (“A Thrifty Mom”) of Idaho, during a break in the busy day. She told us what she enjoyed about the “Valley Visit” event:

Green Giant has posted some pictures on its Flickr page.

Some of the bloggers have already posted some thoughts about their trip. I’ll add more links as I see their posts:

Coming from a rural area in Iowa, I’ve always appreciated fresh produce – and products that are able to replicate the flavors of ‘fresh’. I’ll have to go check out the participating bloggers and see how many of them are city-slickers and see what they thought of their trip to the fields! That’s always a good read!
