Announcing the 47th Pillsbury Bake-Off Contest

For the first time, a public vote will be combined with the judges’ scores to determine the $1 Million Grand Prize Winner in the Pillsbury Bake-Off Contest.

Pillsbury just announced that big news, as well as all the other details about the 47th edition of the contest, which will conclude with the Contest Finals at the Omni Nashville Hotel on November 3, 2014.

Niya Mukherjee

Niya Mukherjee of Durham, NC, prepares her recipe at the 46th Pillsbury Bake-Off Contest in November 2013, in Las Vegas.

At the Contest Finals, where 100 recipes will be prepared, a panel of judges will select the best recipe in each of the four categories. Then all four recipes will be featured online, giving America the chance to vote for their favorite.

The public vote will be combined with the judges’ decisions to determine the $1 million dollar Grand Prize Winner.

“While food and kitchen trends have evolved since the very first competition in 1949, the Pillsbury Bake-Off Contest continues to showcase the best of the best in amateur cooking,” says Shera Balgobin, Bake-Off Contest Manager. “We are confident Pillsbury fans across the country will, again, wow us with their original recipe creations. And, since America will help select this year’s grand prize winner, we can be sure the $1 million-winning recipe will be one home cooks are excited to prepare for their friends and family.” (Read about the 46th Pillsbury Bake-Off Contest, in November 2013, here).
